Research in Progress
The Farncombe Institute’s Research in Progress seminar series provides an opportunity for trainees to present their ongoing research projects. The goals of this seminar series are (1) to develop presentation skills among trainees, (2) to provide constructive critique of ongoing projects, and (3) inspire new collaborations within the institute.
Research Wrap-Up
Research Wrap-Up is a new initiative to celebrate the accomplishments of our trainee members. Part journal club, part post-mortem, part roadmap, these informal discussions are a place to go beyond the paper (or pre-print). Each Wrap-Up will start with a short talk by a trainee author of the paper followed by a moderated discussion session.
Workshops
FITA hosts workshops that support the professional and academic development of trainees. These workshops may cover a range of topics, such as technical skills, career development, or research methodologies. Previous workshops have covered topics including figure design in Adobe Illustrator and data analysis in R. If you have an idea for a future workshop please reach out!
Microbiome Working Group
The Microbiome Working Group provides an informal environment for peer-led support related to microbiome research and data analysis. Join us Tuesdays from 3-4 pm in the Farncombe Atrium!
